HYTHANE

Hythane is an eco-friendly fuel type, consisting of natural gas with the addition of hydrogen 5-10 % wt. (20-40% vol.). The addition of H2 provides a significant reduction of emissions into the environment and fuel consumption.

Hythane is a cost-effective type of gaseous fuel, which one can switch to today

Benefits of Hythane:

  • Doesn’t require re-equipmen
    of compressed gas vehicle
  • Reduction of fuel consumption by 30% (Consumption per 100km: natural gas motor fuel 15 m3, hythane 10,5 m3)
  • Air emission reduction
  • Increase in engine efficiency

Hydrogen generation units can be easily installed on the sites of gas distribution stations for hythane generation. The model range includes hydrogen plants with a capacity from 1 to 1500 nm3/h.

Hythane can be used not only as vehicle fuel but also in power units, that use natural gas as fuel.

Hythane can also be used in public gas networks, for energy- and resource-saving heat generation.

HYTHANE AS A VEHICLE FUEL

Large-scale hythane tests on public transport with compressed gas equipment were carried out in numerous countries, and the results show that the use of hythane leads to a significant emissions reduction, especially these of nitrogen oxides, thus reducing fuel consumption by 30% compared to pure methane.

To switch from gas motor fuel to hythane, there is no need to re-equip the compressed gas equipment.

Adding hydrogen to CNG increases the hydrogen/carbon ratio and ensures complete fuel combustion.

Consequently, СО2 and unburnt carbon (CH) emissions are reduced. NOx emissions are significantly reduced by increasing the excess air ratio.
